pH Telemetry is the evaluation of acid reflux episodes to quantitate severity of the disease and help with the management of the illness. This pH test measures the degree of acidity in your esophagus and usually lasts 24 to 48 hours. A small chip is placed in your esophagus through endoscopy to register acid flow. The acid is measured in two ways: how often stomach acid flows into the lower esophagus and the degree of acidity during the test period.
